When you just can’t stand doing any more house work and just gotta get onto some dirt.
This spot took using lockers and then another spot took K spotting me on a sidehill to get to. Thankfully that’s just tough enough to keep most of the UTV’s away, for now.
(All cell phone photos, bear with us)
Before heading for water we took out the long guns to throw some rounds down range. We always bring the pistols too, but some of the bigger ones hadn’t had use in a year.
(Dead end canyon with only my tire tracks and a hill backstop)

A little while later we headed for water. It was almost 100F out so it sounded REALLY good.
(Cell phone photos... eh...)
This is a spot I stumbled upon on the dirt bike... The one I sold the DAY before we headed out here... We are now dirtbikeless. :-( There were some other 4 wheeled vehicle tracks so I’m certainly not the only one who knows about it, but I’ve never seen another person there. It’s a nice spot. We relaxed and watched some stand up paddle boarders head down river. Not one of them made the mini rapid without taking a fall. It looked like a helluva lot of fun though.
On this mini trip we sat and talked:“What do we do?” I’m not shy about admitting that I don’t really like, but I do appreciate my job/career. “We are thinking about going to Baja for the 4th of July. We are going to have to lead the group of friends so why don’t we start a company and do it for three or four hundred dollars per truck. (People will pay it) We end up working so much to wrangle friends, why not do it for work... Sitting here next to the river I just couldn’t consider it for more than a second. This was my safe space. I will do any boring job to keep it that way. Okay, no progress on figuring out life, but this sure is a nice spot!
...and with that, back to enjoying it and not overthinking it.
A. I guess my wiring of the new battery worked. Yeeeah.
B. The awning is great. While offroading it makes me realize how close I cut it on many trails. We may end up killing it by accident, but I’ll do EVERYTHING I can to keep from doing that. :-/ The mileage hit seems to be about 1 mpg. I’m not sure if it’s more the weight or the aero. Both, I assume.
With that, we headed back to reality and some more projects to get done and cleaning to get caught up on. I wish it was already the holiday weekend. Darnit!!!
p.s. Goose is at the doctor getting an oil change. They are still doing oil changes to monitor usage. This morning the oil light came on fittingly. They are going to bore scope it again and replace the oil sensor. Stay tuned.
